How to choose a mattress?

How to choose a mattress?

Choosing the perfect bed is much easier when you know what you need.

And we understand, so we’re here to help.

At Mazon, we believe that everyone deserves a place they can relax and feel refreshed, a haven that becomes a launching pad for a brighter tomorrow. Our unwavering commitment is reflected in our mission, working diligently night after night to contribute positively to your overall well-being.
Purchasing a mattress is an investment, an important thing to remember is that individuals spend on average a 1/3 of their life sleeping? Or at least trying to! Individuals complain about bad back pain, frequently waking up with aches and pains, and too often this is simply due to what you're sleeping on.
We are dedicated to the pursuit of excellence, ensuring that each night spent in the embrace of our products is a step toward a more revitalized and energized tomorrow.

Firstly, before you buy, you need to ask yourself:

  • Why are you looking at a new bed?
  • Why aren’t you sleeping?
  • If any, what’s causing the pain that is keeping you up at night?
  • What’s your old bed made of?

You also need to consider

  • Who is going to sleep on the mattress? one or two people sleeping on it etc.
  • Is the sleeper(s) tall or short?
  • Is the sleeper(s) a smaller or larger build?

Are you experiencing pain? Back or Hip pain?.

Generally, for older folk who are still mobile, Mazon suggests the Align mattress range. Because as you get older you lose some of the muscle that cushions your body. The triform technology layered in the Align range, provides cushioning for your joints and bones, providing adequate support by evenly distributing the weight across the mattress. Also, these are lower and easier for the elderly to get out of bed. Align is helpful for the weak because of the good edge support in the mattress. Edge support will stop them from slipping off.

Back injuries or mobility issues.

Back injuries or mobility issues are different. If you are struggling with this, Mazon suggests either the Smart-Coil or Hampton range, as the support from the coils will make it easier to get in and out of bed without too much hassle.
Alternatively, Mazon recommends an Adjustable bed with an Align mattress, as this will provide you with the best support and relief, and improved lifestyle.

Larger sleepers.

For individuals with higher body weights, Mazon generally recommends choosing a solid core mattress with a medium to firm firmness level. This is because heavier individuals typically provide their own natural cushioning, making excessive softness in the mattress unnecessary unless it is a matter of personal comfort. In such cases, the WoolaAlign or the Hybrid range would be the ideal option.  are ideal, as they offer the necessary support and durability while accommodating different comfort preferences.

Furthermore, for those considering a pocket spring mattress, selecting a model with firm edge support is highly advisable. Mattresses like the Smart-Coil FirmSmart-Coil Support, which feature wire edge reinforcement, are particularly well-suited. These designs help mitigate edge sagging and ensure a more stable and consistent sleeping surface.

Smaller sleepers.

For smaller or lighter sleepers, a mattress that offers balanced support and cushioning is ideal. Lighter individuals generally exert less pressure on a mattress, so they benefit from options that provide support and comfort without excessive sinking. Consider the Smart-Coil, Align, or Woola mattresses in medium to plush feels for an optimal blend of support and softness.

Are you Hot Sleeper.

For hot sleepers, Mazon often recommends opting for a firmer mattress if you're interested in coil models like Smart-Coil Support or Smart-Coil Medium. A firmer mattress allows for better airflow through the coils and also helps air circulate more effectively above the mattress, keeping you cooler throughout the night.
If you're going for a softer/plush feel, then Mazon recommends the Align range due to its cooling properties in the Triform technology. Triform carbon allows heat to move through the mattress, minimising build up of heat on mattress surface. Triform gel provides a cooling sleeping surface, by infusing micro-beads throughout the triform.

Temperature Control. Hot or Cold?

A polar pad is an excellent addition for anyone dealing with temperature-related sleep issues. It's a natural solution for those who wake up feeling sweaty at night or those who struggle to warm up. Featuring advanced cool-touch technology, the Cooling Pad thermostat allows you to customize your bed's temperature for a more comfortable sleep experience. Although the name suggests it's for Hot Sleepers, the Cooling pad has temperature settings down to 8°C and can heat to 48°C. However, Mazon reccomends a setting of 25-28 works best in most situations, although not seeming cold to the touch this moderating temperature is still approximately 10° below body temperature so giving a cooling effect.

Couples.

Generally, for couples Mazon's would recommend a Smart-Coil, Hampton or Platinum. Mainly because of zoning in the coils and the comfort layers providing some zero partner disturbance and less roll-together.
However, coil-less mattresses, provide zero partner disturbance and zero roll-together. Coil-less mattresses, such as; Align, Woola or Hybrid would be the next recommendation. These 3 ranges would be more effective at preventing roll together and giving zero partner disturbance.

Children.

For children, Eco-Coil S2 mattress is an excellent choice due to its good quality at a reasonable price. Since children typically use their mattresses less intensively, it will likely have a longer lifespan. Additionally, for parents who occasionally share a bed with their kids, this mattress offers comfort for everyone.

All rounder, affordability.

General an all-rounder mattress would be Eco-Coil S2 or Smart-Coil Medium/Smart-Coil Plush.

  • The Eco-Coil S2 because it is simple but comfortable and its affordable.
  • Smart-Coil because of the zoned coils and affordability compared to other models with similar features and has a 10year warranty.
